The small island of Soay in the Scottish St. Kilda Archipelago. The study species, Soay sheep, is a primitive breed of domestic sheep (Ovis aries)descended from a feral population on this island. This image accompanied the paper "The Dynamics of Phenotypic Change and the Shrinking Sheep of St. Kilda," by A. Ozgul et. al appearing in the July 3, 2009 issue of Science.
