A sophisticated well-monitoring system installed by PNNL and funded by DOE's Environmental Remediation Sciences Program will thoroughly characterize the uranium-contaminated subsurface within Hanford's 300 Area (center). A plume resulted from fuel fabrication activities conducted decades ago.
