Myoferlin is a protein expressed on the surface of lysosomes and auto-lysosomes which binds phosphatidylserine in the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane upon calcium stimulation. Thus, myoferlin promotes the fusion of lysosomes with plasma membrane for lysosomal exocytosis of debris and digestive enzymes.
