Human Heart Precursor Cells Self-Organised Into Human Muscle Fiber In Damaged Mouse Heart (VIDEO)
Caption
Human cardiovascular progenitors, injected into the damaged region of an infarcted mouse heart, remained in the heart for a long term and self-organised into human muscle fibre. The fibre contains many individual cells clustering together into a bundle. In the above image, human cells are in green and muscle contractile machinery are in red. Heart cells communicate with each other through the cell-to-cell junctions, which are in yellow.
