Assistant professor Lotte Thomsen, from the Department of Psychology at the University of Copenhagen, has published a paper showing that infants less than one year old understand social dominance and use relative size to predict who will prevail when two individuals' goals conflict. The findings are presented in the Jan. 28 edition of the journal Science.
