The GPM satellite analyzed Tropical Storm Nida on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 11:01 a.m. EDT (1501 UTC) and found storm tops reached heights of over 10.5 miles (17 km) in intense storms within a feeder band north of Nida's center and rain falling at over 3.5 inches (89 mm) per hour.
