This is a GIF of how nanoporous polyethylene reflects visible sunlight, but allow heat to escape. Such material could be used to create clothes that help keep people cool. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Sept. 2, 2016 issue of <i>Science</i>, published by AAAS. The paper, by P.-C. Hsu at Stanford University in Stanford, CA, and colleagues was titled, "Radiative human body cooling by nanoporous polyethylene textile."
