The compound PCN helped reduce injury to kidney cells in a rat model of induced kidney injury (I/R). This material relates to a paper that appeared in the May. 13, 2020, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by X. Yu at Children's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University in Nanjing, China; and colleagues was titled, "Nuclear receptor PXR targets AKR1B7 to protect mitochondrial metabolism and renal function in AKI."
