Single Cell Protein Scanner Could Aid Personalized Medicine (1 of 3) (IMAGE)
Caption
The barcoding technology Ullal et al. developed, dubbed the ABCD method, leverages cancer cells harvested from fine needle aspirates and profiles ~90 proteins to map patient heterogeneity at the protein level. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the January 15, 2014, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by Dr. A.V. Ullal at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass., and colleagues was titled, "Cancer Cell Profiling by Barcoding Allows Multiplexed Protein Analysis in Fine-Needle Aspirates."
