They report in the journal JCI Insights finding an epigenetic signature in patient cells and mouse models that appears to predict inflammation risk in a serious type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) called Crohn's disease. With about 1.6 million people in the US dealing with IBD, the findings may help lead to improved diagnosis and treatment for patients.
