Resonant sloshing developing inside the moving closed-cage model (VIDEO)
Caption
A study using a scale-model containment system is reported in Physics of Fluids and shows why violent sloshing motions, which endanger cages and fish, arise and how to minimize them. This video shows resonant sloshing developing inside the moving closed-cage model with a series of nozzles that inject water from the sides, causing the whole body of liquid to rotate.
