Every sector in society emits greenhouse gases. But agriculture is different from most other sectors because of the large-scale photosynthesis. Crops produce oxygen (O2) and emit it to the atmosphere, while at the same time they capture and bind carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.
