This image shows the interaction of Nylanderia fulva and Solenopsis invicta illustrating the detoxification behavior. The larger S. invicta worker dabs venom droplets from its sting onto antennae of an attacking N. fulva worker. For more information, please see Figure 1 in the manuscript. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the 13 Feb., 2014, issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The paper, by Edward LeBrun at The University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas, and colleagues was titled, "Chemical Warfare Among Invaders: A Detoxification Interaction Facilitates an Ant Invasion."
