American and British photographers highlighted the religious aspect of Pope Francis's visit by showing him most often in religious settings or presiding over religious events, including in this photo by Reuters photographer Tony Gentile. Cuban photographers, in contrast, played up the diplomatic nature of the Pope's visit and showed more images of him in government buildings interacting with politicians.
