In a new study, researchers used genealogical records to trace the last 500 years of Western marriage and migration patterns and show that the genetic basis of longevity is lower than many have suggested. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the March 2, 2018 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by J. Kaplanis at New York Genome Center in New York, NY, and colleagues was titled, "Quantitative analysis of population-scale family trees with millions of relatives."
