Maquins Sewe grew up in the South Nyanza region of Western Kenya. He has been working as a senior data analyst with the Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) in Western Kenya. HDSS is part of a public health collaboration between the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the United States' Center for Disease Control (CDC). Maquins Sewe holds a Bachelor's degree in mathematics from Nairobi University and a Master's degree in Biostatistics from Ibadan University in Nigeria.
