Probing Quantum Coherence In Single-atom Electron Spin Resonance (1 of 1) (IMAGE)
Caption
The metallic tip of a scanning tunneling microscope drives the magnetic quantum state of an iron atom into a different direction while injected electrons destroy this state superposition. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 16, 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by Philip Willke at Institute for Basic Science, Seoul, Republic of Korea, and colleagues was titled, "Probing quantum coherence in single-atom electron spin resonance."
