Who is Forgotten? (IMAGE) NYU Tandon School of Engineering Caption This distribution of the topics most often associated with links delisted by Google under Europe's Right to be Forgotten law are serious and troubling, including assault and sexual assault, murder, terrorism, financial misconduct, and drug use. The researchers from NYU Tandon, NYU Shanghai, and the Federal University of Minas Gerais noted that Google must evaluate and approve all delisting requests, and that links were likely delisted due to spent convictions, accusations that were proven false, or criminal charges for which the requester was acquitted. They also noted that civilians -- not celebrities -- were most often the beneficiaries of the privacy law. Credit Sheldon Smith Usage Restrictions For editorial use only.
