pZAT11:Luciferase expression oscillates in the OZ over time. The primary root grows following the gravity vector from top to bottom. Low expression is represented as blue, higher expression as yellow (see fig S1). Duration: 7 hours. This video relates to an article that appeared in the Sept. 10, 2010, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. M.A. Moreno-Risueno of Duke University in Durham, N.C., and colleagues was titled, "Oscillating Gene Expression Determines Competence for Periodic Arabidopsis Root Branching."
