Sarah A. Mustillo, a Purdue associate professor of sociology who studies obesity in childhood and adolescence, found that when obese white teenage girls lose weight, it does not guarantee they are going to feel better about themselves. The study, based on data from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute Growth and Health Study, is in the current issue of the Journal of Health and Social Behavior.
