University of Michigan Health System pain specialist and anesthesiologist Carmen R. Green, M.D., continues her body of work on racial disparities in the pain experience with a new study that gives the most detailed picture yet of the impact of chronic pain on the health of black men. Black men with chronic pain were more likely to experience the downward spiral of depression, affective distress and disability than white men with chronic pain, according to her latest research.
