Targeting platelets with an antibody (α-plt) slowed the progression and severity of atherosclerosis and aortic lesions (red) in mice. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Nov. 6, 2019, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by T.J. Barrett at New York University School of Medicine in New York, NY; and colleagues was titled, "Platelet regulation of myeloid suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 accelerates atherosclerosis."
