This animation explains how researchers created biological pacemaker cells in pigs using gene therapy. This animation relates to a paper that appeared in the July 16, 2014, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by Dr. Y.-F. Hu at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute in Los Angeles, Calif., and colleagues was titled, "Biological pacemaker created by minimally invasive somatic reprogramming in pigs with complete heart block."
