The scientists used fluorescent techniques to image the grouping of chondrocytes in different zones (R, C, and H) in slices of growth plates from mice. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Apr. 10, 2019, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by N.
