The University of Oxford has developed a new machine to record oxygen consumption in real time for critically-ill patients with shock. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 12, 2016, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by L. Ciaffoni at University of Oxford in Oxford, UK, and colleagues was titled, " In-airway molecular flow sensing: A new technology for continuous, noninvasive monitoring of oxygen consumption in critical care."
