Laser light illuminates the chemical reactor in the Multiplexed Photoionization Mass Spectrometer where QOOH radicals were first observed. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 6, 2015 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by J.D. Savee at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA, and colleagues was titled, "Direct observation and kinetics of a hydroperoxyalkyl radical (QOOH)."
