The biennial relationship index (BRI) between CA and ESA rainfall based on the 11-year sliding correlations, which suggests that the biennial relationship between CA and ESA rainfall has weakened remarkably since 2000. The dashed line represents the long-term mean value (0.33) of the BRI during the analysis period.
