Without Dna2, Genes can Jump into DNA Breaks (IMAGE)
Caption
This image is the artist's representation of the new phenomenon described by Yu, et al (Nature, Dec. 2018). When Dna2 is absent, small DNA fragments jump from all over the genome into chromosome breaks. This mechanism may explain similar events commonly seen in cancer or during antibody diversification.
