Gabriela Carrillo, a Virginia Tech translational biology, medicine, and health (TBMH) doctoral candidate, has been awarded a six-year $445,000 National Institutes of Health award that will fund her remaining TBMH predoctoral research at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, as well as her postdoctoral research. The award supports exceptional graduate students who are interested in pursuing careers as independent researchers.
