This is a high-speed video of a rapid escape maneuver of a flying fruit fly (Drosophila hydei). The video is slowed down 300x. This video relates to a paper that appeared in Apr. 4, 2014, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Florian Muijres at University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., and colleagues was titled, 'Flies Evade Looming Targets by Executing Rapid Visually Directed Banked Turns.'
