Foraging Band Societies Weren't War-like, Study Suggests (2 of 2)

The findings of this study show that almost two-thirds of lethal events in the sample of 21 mobile forager band societies stemmed from interpersonal animosities, family feuds, accidents, or group-sanctioned executions of deviants, whereas relatively few lethal aggression events stemmed from intergroup hostility or competition. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the July 19, 2013, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Douglas Fry and Patrik Söderberg at Åbo Akademi University in Vasa in Vasa, Finland was titled, "Lethal Aggression in Mobile Forager Bands and Implications for the Origins of War."
