A new technique for producing self-folding, three-dimensional origami structures from photo-curable liquid polymer materials created these tiny samples, held in a hand for size comparison. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the April 28, 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by Z. Zhao at Peking University in Beijing, China, and colleagues was titled, "Origami by frontal photopolymerization."
