MODIS Data to Find Sargassum (IMAGE) NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Caption Scientists used NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on Terra and Aqua satellites to discover the Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt (GASB), which started in 2011.
