Mapping the Hallmarks of Lung Adenocarcinoma with Massively Parallel Sequencing (IMAGE)
Caption
A CIRCOS plot (Krzywinski 2007) maps genomic alterations observed through next generation sequencing of a set of lung adenocarcinoma patients to the 10 "hallmarks of cancer" (Hanahan and Weinberg, 2011). Each radial position in the plot represents a hallmarks and tumor combination, with position i in each hallmark corresponding to patient i. Tracks surrounding the hallmark labels signify mutation (colored boxes) and copy number status (line plot) for genes associated with that hallmark across the tumor set. For each predicted driver alteration in a gene and tumor, a colored set of arcs is drawn joining hallmarks predicted to be acquired in that tumor, with the identity of the tumor and gene signified by the position and color of the arc, respectively.
