Isochronic neurons in layer 2 of the medial entorhinal cortex. Immunodetection of reelin (magenta) or calbindin (cyan) allowed the visualization of stellate and pyramidal cells (respectively). Yellow spots in the nucleus identify cohorts of neurons born on E12. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 27 Oct. 2017, issue of <i>Science</i>, published by AAAS. The paper, by F. Donato at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass., and colleagues was titled, " Assembling the brain from deep within."
