Complex Dewetting Scenarios of Ultrathin Silicon Films for Large-Scale Nanoarchitectures (4 of 7) (IMAGE)
Caption
Scanning electron microscope images of silicon particles. These structures are obtained via spontaneous solid-state dewetting of an ultra-thin, flat layer of silicon on silicon dioxide. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 10 Nov. 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by M. Naffouti at Université de Toulon in Marseille, France, and colleagues was titled, "Complex dewetting scenarios of ultrathin silicon films for large-scale nanoarchitectures."
