Professor Greg Evans and Dr. Cheol-Heon Jeong studied levels of black carbon and ultrafine particles inside the cars of commuter trains. They found that passengers were exposed to high levels of these potentially carcinogenic fumes, especially when sitting directly behind the locomotive.
