Max Planck scientists have discovered a very simple way of synthesizing the artemisinin molecule, which is known as an anti-malaria drug from traditional Chinese medicine and has an extremely complex chemical structure. The discovery will pave the way for an inexpensive and large-scale production of artemisinin in the future.
