A new imaging agent, developed at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, illuminates cancerous cells of a breast tumor. The new agent lights up cancer cells and the supporting cells that act as a shield, protecting the tumor from various treatment strategies. The new investigational agent is being tested in small clinical trials.
