A half-coated license plate was plated outside during the Michigan winter of 2013. Ice only accreted on the uncoated side. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the March 11, 2016 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by K. Golovin at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, and colleagues was titled, "Designing durable icephobic surfaces."
