An extracted fiber ribbon retains the same helical shape as the original tendril, indicating that the stiff fiber ribbon causes the tendril to change shape. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 31, 2012, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by S.J.
