The following images are part of a schematic showing transdermal photocrosslinking of composite soft tissue biomaterials. Here, photopolymerizable poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate–hyaluronic acid (PEG-HA) formulation is injected into the dermis. This is figure 1(A) from the paper. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the July 27, 2011, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by Dr. A.T. Hillel of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., and colleagues, was titled, "Photoactivated Composite Biomaterial for Soft Tissue Restoration in Rodents and in Humans."
