Sarah Tishkoff et al. found several novel variants associated with lactose tolerance in East African pastoralists; these variants serve as examples of local adaptation. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Sept. 18, 2015 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by M. Fumagalli at University College London in London, UK, and colleagues was titled, 'Greenlandic Inuit show genetic signatures of diet and climate adaptation.'
