Cancer cells within tumors display high variability for genetic and phenotypic features. ImmunoFISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization combined with immunofluorescence) was used to visualize genetic diversity for 8q24 (red) and the chromosome 8 centromeric region (green) in CD44+ (blue) and CD24+ (yellow) breast cancer cells.
