Nipah virus antigen (red) was present in neurons in the brain of one infected monkey that was treated with the antiviral remdesivir. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the May 29, 2019, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by M.K. Lo at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA; and colleagues was titled, 'Remdesivir (GS-5734) protects African green monkeys from Nipah virus challenge.'
