Crenicichla frenata are the major aquatic predator of adult guppies and their abundance defines a habitat's level of predation. Here, they are being observed at the lower Lopinot river in Trinidad, a high predation habitat. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 03 May 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by C.C. Ioannou at University of Bristol in Bristol, UK, and colleagues was titled, "High-predation habitats affect the social dynamics of collective exploration in a shoaling fish."
