A prototype ventilator developed by the University of California San Diego (UCSD). The Office of Naval Research (ONR) and its international arm, ONR Global, recently sponsored research by UCSD to create low-cost, easily built ventilator prototypes for both hospital and field settings. Designed in response to COVID-19, the ventilators would be valuable in emergency situations involving large patient surges and a lack of life-sustaining equipment.
