Asian Tiger Mosquito

Aedes albopictus, the Asian tiger mosquito, is an aggressive daytime biter and a potential disease vector. Lab studies have shown that two dozen viruses can reproduce in the mosquito, but so far it is suspected of spreading only the chickunguna virus in the US.
