Fluorescent micrograph of HeLa cells transfected with STAT2 (green) and stained for nuclei (blue) and STAT1 (red). Nuclei with STAT1 appear intensely pink, in contrast to the dark blue holes seen in STAT2-expressing cells, which demonstrates the inhibition of STAT1 nuclear import and function by STAT2.
