Heavy Rain and Towering Storms in Hurricane Nicole (VIDEO)

This flyby of Hurricane Nicole was created by GPM's Radar data. On Oct. 17, the GPM satellite estimated rainfall around the southern side of Nicole's eye falling at a rate of over 113 mm (4.4 inches) per hour. Powerful storms in Nicole's eye were reaching heights of only about 12 km (7.4 miles).
